Mosaics 3-Using the Tapestry Method (Nov 9 and 16)
FRIDAYS, NOV 9 AND 16 (part 1 and 2): 930 am-noon.
Do you have interesting two- and three-dimensional materials that would look great in a mosaic, but they are also too intricate to withstand grouting? In this class, you learn to use the TAPESTRY mosaic technique to create a basic but beautiful wall hanging. You will learn how to prepare the substrate, how to create a pattern from your materials, how to embed your items into prepared mortar, and how to finish the piece. This class is primarily for intermediate students or for any mosaic artist that wants to try a new technique. Includes use of tools, small substrate, and adhesives. Students will receive email from instructor in the week before class on what they need to bring. Special arrangements for ADVANCED USERS! Contact Andrea for details.
Class is (2) sessions, 2.5 hours each, total 5 hours.
LIMITED to 8 participants.
REGISTRATION CLOSES day before class.
