The Spaces
There are three, four-sided wooden towers, each about 96 inches high. Each side is approximately 36 inches wide. The wooden towers have continuous horizontal slot spaces about 5 inches apart from floor to ceiling.
These slots accommodate flush mount hooks that the library provides for your pieces wired for hanging. The portion of the hook that sticks out is about ½ inch wide and ½ inch deep. We can fit a minimum of twelve large 2D pieces here, but there's room for a lot more, depending on size and placement. Mosaics must have adequate hardware and not weigh more than 15 pounds.
|
Each of the three glass cases have three adjustable/removable glass shelves. Each shelf space is approximately 24 x 24 x 24 inches.
However, the back of the case is a sliding glass door, which only opens half-way, so one surface of the 3D piece must be 12 inches or less in order to slide in! We can fit a minimum of 12 pieces here (one per shelf) or double-up for more. If needed, the artist must supply appropriate stands or tripods. |
The window room is self-explanatory. It's about 12 feet long but you can see it has an angled bend. The glass is about 3 ft. high but there is no ceiling so if 3D mosaics are slightly taller, they will fit.
We can arrange between 6 and 8 sculptures or other 3D pieces in this space, maybe more, depending on size and arrangement. There is also electricity here if your piece needs it. |
