Creating 3-D Mosaic Substrates (July 14 and 21)
SUNDAYS, JULY 14 (Part 1, 1:30-4 pm) and JULY 21 (Part 2, 1:30-4 pm).
Have you wanted to create a unique three-dimensional mosaic but could not find the right substrate? Do you need a specific shape or form? In this two-part class, you will learn to create a basic 3-D substrate using fiberglass mesh and thin set. In the first session, you create a foundational substrate with folds or curves. In the second session, you complete your substrate and attach the hanging hardware. We will also discuss the best approach to applying tesserae to your finished piece when you get home. All materials and tools provided. Students will receive an email from instructor in the week before class on what they need to bring.
Two sessions; total class time 5 hours.
LIMITED to 6 participants. Minimum age 16.
Classes taught at Blue Raven Art School (720 E Prince Rd).
Class and workshop registration fees are non-refundable. If you miss a class, you can take another of the same value within 3 months of the original one or give it to someone else. However, you need to send me an email to make these changes.
